Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Seize Your Time (SYT) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the SYT web app and its browser extension. Last updated: September 2026.

What information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address via Firebase Authentication. Your goals, objectives, and daily tasks are stored in Firebase Firestore under your account. Any images you attach to notes are stored in Firebase Storage. If you use the AI goal-breakdown assistant, the text of your conversation is sent to OpenAI for processing. If you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe — SYT never sees or stores your card number.

How we use your information

We use this information to operate your account, save and sync your plans across devices, generate AI-assisted goal breakdowns when you request them, process subscription payments, and provide customer support. We do not sell your personal data.

Third-party services we use

SYT relies on a small number of trusted service providers, each governed by their own privacy policy:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, and file storage
• OpenAI — processes conversation text for the AI goal-breakdown feature
• Stripe — processes subscription payments
• Google reCAPTCHA — protects our forms from automated abuse

Where your data is stored

SYT primarily stores your data locally in your browser (localStorage) so the app works offline. When you're signed in, this data is also synced to Firebase Firestore as a cloud backup and to make it available across your devices.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account and associated data at any time from the app's menu ("Delete my account"). You may also contact us to request deletion of your data.

Children's privacy

SYT is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
